The Money-Printing Machine Mindset

I want to start with a story that sets the scene of having a business that will pay you for life versus a job that pays you once and then requires you have to repeat all the time and effort to get paid the next month.
This story is about having your own money-printing machine.
Before beginning however, it will be useful for you to have some perspective to be able to relate later.
One way of doing this is to write on a piece of paper your personal Financial Freedom Figure (and reading it every day).
So what’s your Financial Freedom Figure ?
Well first of all recognise that especially in the Western world we are working Harder, Longer and faster than ever before. We are therefore more stressed with our everyday life, nightmare roads and traffic, public services, income and taxes and the whole resulting home and family life. In short, it’s not much fun as a wage slave (in case you hadn’t noticed).
So back to that Financial freedom Figure. Do you now know EXACTLY how much money you need to be able to live your dream life.
Don’t just pick an arbitrary amount like one million. Why one million ?
Why not TEN million, a HUNDRED million or just a hundred thousand ?
Here’s a simple tip for a technique you can use to start:
- Take you current annual Gross Salary (notice that it is gross) or a salary that you could live on comfortably.
- Multiply that amount by 20 (if you had this amount in the bank you could live off the interest at 5%).
- As an example £40,000 * 20 = £800,000 @ 5% = £40,000 annual income to live on and say goodbye to the job.
- That’s not a major fantasy figure, but a very achievable amount.
It doesn’t mean being so rich that you are driving exotic cars, owning a yacht, a private plane, other luxury items and holiday homes, but enough a enjoy life without all the stresses of a boss, whilst living in a great house, driving a decent car and having nice holidays many times a year.
So let’s calculate your FREEDOM FIGURE and Write It Down.
- What’s the Annual Salary you need to live comfortably (not Rich) is : ?????????
- Multiply this amount by 20
- Copy this amount to paper and read at the start of every day
- Focus on this figure that is going to set you FREE
Now that you know your FREEDOM FIGURE let’s get back to the story of the Money-Printing Machine !
Imagine you have a machine that prints bank notes, but is Legal, Tax-Free money for you to do as you please.
We will use £5 as an example of the note that the machine prints, but replace with $5 or a small note in your local currency.
What annual salary do you need to live your best life (Not necessarily lavish, just comfortable) ?
Your Total Freedom Figure is 12 times the annual figures.
Now back to your money-printing machine. Imagine it in your garage, basement, attic or a spare room.
How does the machine work ?
You simply load paper into the machine, pull a few heavy levers, turn a few tight knobs and press a few buttons (there is a bit of effort).
Press the final PRINT button and out pops a crisp £5 note.
It takes some effort and may be physically demanding, but it only takes a minute. In other words it takes you one minute to produce £5.
Imagine you only have this machine for a limited time before it’s taken away from you, though you don’t know precisely when this will be.
Only YOU can operate the machine, you can’t delegate to anyone else.
What would you Do ?
You have this one chance, maybe the only chance you will have, to become a cash-rich millionaire, but you are going to have to really go for it.
You would probably spend the entire first day (even if in a cold, damp garage) loading paper, pulling levers, turning knobs and pressing buttons over and over again.
You wouldn’t want to take any breaks. Any necessary ones would be rushed so you don’t waste any precious time that could be used operating the machine.
No leisurely lunches. Quick snacks to maintain your energy and straight back to the machine, eating with one hand, operating the machine with the other.
Sleep will be a distant thought as you think “Another Hour” as 1am, 2am, 3am and beyond passes until you eventually fall asleep.
Awaking suddenly you frantically continue pull the lever still in your hand, regretting the lost time of sleep that could have been another £1000
Eventually the pile of notes has grown larger and larger. £10,000 to £100,000 to £500,000 until you finally pass your annual summary and reach your Financial Freedom figure.
That’s a nice thought isn’t it.
You know if you really had a money-printing machine like that you would work that hard to maximise the income and wouldn’t slack off for anything.
There is no way you miss out on reaching all your dreams.
